As I have already mentioned, the small size makes it perfect for cooking small amounts of rice. This is perfect for anyone who lives alone. This is also a nice sized machine for couples and can also work well if you have a small family. To be honest though even though it is possible to make enough for five people, I would only recommend this unit for couples and singles. I think a larger 5 1/2 cup cooker would be more appropriate for family use. It is actually one of the cheapest Zojirushi rice cookers and is the cheapest model to feature the stainless steel design. It looks good and it can make great tasting rice. Of course it also features Micom technology. This is a good standard of device to consider. All Micom rice cookers make great tasting rice. The Zojirushi NS-LAC05 is easy to use and has a range of menu options for various kinds of rice. Then when you are done cooking, it is easy to clean up. The inner lid pops out which makes it very easy to wash and get completely clean.
