non-profit corporation that provides services to persons with
disabilities. ABIL's programs include Information & Referral,
Peer Support, Home Modifications, Independent Living Skills Instruction,
Personal / Home Health Assistance, Americans with Disabilities Act
Training & compliance Surveys, consumer Advocacy, and a variety
of other community integration and transitional services.

Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic, a
nonprofit organization, provides textbooks on CD and audio cassette to
people who are challenged by a visual, learning or other physical
disability. RFB&D's library of over 93,000 titles range from
kindergarten through graduate school level texts. Financial assistance
is available for individuals or schools.
"Gilbert Cares" refurbishes and maintains the homes of elderly,
disabled and "at-risk" families of the Greater Gilbert Community who are
physically and financially unable to provide support for themselves.
If you own and live in a single family home, you may
qualify for financial assistance for improvements to your home.
The program is intended to assist low to moderate income families.

SRP has teamed up with the Salvation Army to give emergency
assistance to people who, due to crisis situations, are unable to pay
their basic household energy bills and have exhausted all other
potential sources of aid. Assistance is limited to one grant a year per
recipient. SHARE is not a welfare or other government-funded program.
